I am tired of everyone trying to sell information to me, so thats why I made this "5 Factor Diet" website for you, which explains to anyone how they can lose weight fast. Below are the main secrets and principles behind the 5 factors diet, and how Jessica Simpson, Halle Berry, John Mayer, and many other Hollywood movie stars are shedding the pounds better and quicker than previous techniques. I just put this website up as a hobby project, since by day, I am a web designer, so I hope you find this information useful.
Other diets like South Beach Diet, and Low-Carb Diets are out-of-date in comparison, not to mention expensive and lack variety; who really wants to eat meat all day anyways—not me. The only other diet that doesnt involve starvation, hard-core excercises, or hating your menu would be Fat Loss 4 Idiots which I will cover in detail in an upcoming article
We all know that actors pay big money to personal trainers to learn these cutting edge techniques, especially to Harley Pasternak who invented and continues to pioneer the "5 Factor Diet." However, since I don't have a million bucks lying around, to hire the best trainer for his diet "secrets," I decided to research everything on my own. So with a lot of websites around selling the steps to the "5 Factor Diet," I am putting everything I know about this diet here 100% free for the world to see.
If you would like to help me in return, just link to my website from yours (for those of you that have a website, blog, MySpace page, etc...); or get the "5 Factor Diet" book on Amazon.
The guru of the whole "Five Factor Diet," Harley Pasternak has a boatload of famous clients who back him up...
Does it Really Work ?
"The 'The 5 Factor Diet' has changed my life. Not only do I feel better than ever, but now I can have guilt-free pizza anytime, and that has made me a happy girl."
"With 'The 5 Factor Diet,' the focus is not on starving yourself but on healthful living so you don't feel like you're missing out on the foods you love. Once you get started, you get addicted to looking, feeling, and living your best."
"The 'The 5 Factor Diet' saved me on tour. I can't believe there is healthy food that tastes this good. I've never been in better shape!"
"'The 5 Factor' is not a diet, in the sense that there's nothing to fall off of. There's nothing to say goodbye to, and nothing to long for. It is almost too good to be true!"
Perhaps just as important is the view by medical professionals.
The 5-Factor Diet has shaped some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities and it will do the same for you. The five-week program reduces hunger and feelings of deprivation.
Nutritional Pros and Cons:
Although the number five theme is gimmicky, there is no gimmick to the diet plan itself. This is a healthy plan that incorporates all the food categories in appropriate proportions, including plenty of fiber, low-fat protein choices and low-fat dairy suggestions. The exercise is a combination of cardio and strength training and you don’t need any expensive equipment to do it – just some weights and a balance ball.
The 5-Factor Diet is a good, simple idea that sends a healthy message: Eat a variety of foods in appropriate amounts and you’ll lose weight, be healthy and probably get most of the vitamins and nutrients you need from your food. I would recommend this diet.
However, with that being said, I have discovered a BETTER program than the 5 FACTOR DIET, and its uses a technique called CALORIE SHIFTING. You can learn more about this program and technique here
There are other comparable accelerated diet programs out there such as Fat Loss for Idiots.
Harley has worked with some of the top celebrities in Hollywood, including:
Unfortunately, there is no real personalization or customization in his program, as you might find in other programs such as Fat Loss 4 Idiots
Obviously it consists of 5 main parts, so I have broken this section down into 5 parts.
This plan is designed to give you results in five weeks. Since it is quite simple to use, as well as effective, you may find that you make the "5 Factor Diet" a lifestyle (as many of Harley's personal clients tend to do). You may have noticed several stars going through this diet to get in shae for an upcoming movie, or similar event. The 5 week plan has another advtanged: it's a short-term realistic goal for many dieters who see no end in sight. Those desiring to lose a lot of weight may find that 5 weeks is not long enough.
By eating 5 meals a day, this accomplished a couple of important things. First, you are less likely to get hungry between meals. Second, science has continuously backed this principle up in that eating more often increases your metabolism as well as maintain your blood sugar levels. This is key to this diet's success. A typical day might look like this: 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm.
While many diets are difficult to prepare quick and tasty foods, the Five Factor Diet does not. Nor do you have to pay for those expensive health foods, and weight loss drinks. Perhaps most importantly is the speed factor: Since I have little time to prepare food in my busy day, the 5 Factor Diet is ideal since most recipes take under 5 minutes.
You will see quite a bit difference from low-carb diets, since the 5 Factor Diet focuses instead on high quality carbs, or carbs which have a low-glycemic index or GI). Not only are processed white sugars and white flour/breads some of the highest GI on this scale, but you will find that fruits and other sweet foods can be quite acceptable on this diet. It's also worth nothing that high quality sugars have other benefits such as controlling appetite, sustained energy (as opposed to quick bursts), lower risk of diabetes and heart disease. Whole wheat is much better than white; eat pasta, rice, yams, lima beans or baked potatoes more often than mashed, boiled or instant potatoes. You can download a free printable glycemic index here (in PDF format).
Besides eating good carbs, the other points which make up most 5 ingredient meals are:
Amazingly, he even has french toast and pizza recipes. I even have included some 5-ingredient recipes approved for this diet—Click here. As for total caloric intake, try to get a bit under the daily recommended for your body type, weight, and height.
Much like the easting more often rule, working out is the same in that working out less, but more often will keep your metabolism up, and avoid LONG sessions in the gym. So, 25 minutes, 5 days a week is ideal. You will notice it involves a mix of cardio and strength training, as building muscle burns more calories in the long run.
An important factor is to keep your routine fresh, and dynamic. So every week, you will want to change the type of exercise (strength training, cardiovascular, core movements), the number of repetitions, sets, resistance level, and rest periods. Here is the key components of an effective workout under his plan:
Equipment: Only Dumbbells and a bench required.
Phases: (Total 25 minutes)
Harley does sell a book just for the excercise training aspect called the 5 Factor Workout.
Diets suck ! That is, for diets where you have to eat rabbit-food all day, every day. By having a break once a week, you can relax, have fun, and feel you are in control of your life still. On top of that, having a cheat day has shown to speed results up over those who do not have a cheat day. On this cheat day, you can eat whaever you want (don't go balistic here though).
Perhaps most importantly is the idea that you can actually take this diet and make it into a lifestyle. With cheat days, frequent eating, and healthy, less resrictive foods, I hope you can reach a point where the 5 Factor Diet becomes a way of life, and does not feel like a diet.
While Harley's 5 factor program is highly successful for many, one size does not fit all. There are other programs that work better for others, and therefore have compiled a list of todays most successful and fastest growing diet programs in the world:
World-Famous TV Lady Doctor comes forth and blows the lid off the conspiracy to keep you unhealthy, fat & just plain sick... Revealed in Top Secret Fat Loss Secret
"A Complete Fat Burning System Based on The Secret Techniques of The World's Best Bodybuilders and Fitness Models" invented by world reknown international fitness writer and Natural Bodybuilding Magazine Star, Tom Venuto, in Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle
5 Fat Loss Myths: Why long, slow boring cardio is not the best fat loss program to increase your metabolism and burn belly fat, in Turbulence Training
Some diets even fit better with different age and lifestyle groups. For example, a diet program aimed at busy moms to help burn the lingering "Baby Fat" and get their body back with fun, fast sessions you can do in your living room. Learn more about Fit Yummy Mummy

HOW HOLLYWOOD'S HOTTEST EAT TO LOOK GOOD AND TRAIN TO STAY FIT
BY HARLEY PASTERNAK
'Hollywood's hottest' translate to hotter-than-ever sales
Harley Pasternak's proven 5-Factor nutrition and diet program and remarkable success in training Hollywood celebrities are grounded in his exceptional professional qualifications. He holds a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology and nutritional sciences from the University of Toronto, and an honors degree in kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. He is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and The Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. One of the most sought-after diet and fitness trainers among celebrities, Harley has shaped the bodies of Alicia Keyes, Halle Berry, Eva Mendes, Brendan Fraser, Kanye West, Orlando Bloom, Mandy Moore, Benjamin Bratt, Rick Fox, Christian Slater, John Mayer, Sanaa Lathan, and many more.
Harley's first book, 5-Factor Fitness, was a top seller, and he has appeared as a fitness and nutrition specialist on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Tyra Banks Show, Access Hollywood, Extra, VH1, E!, and America's Next Top Model. The author of a regular column in the LA Times, Harley has also appeared in People, Glamour, Vogue, Elle, Allure, InStyle, Us Weekly, In Touch, Men's Health, Jane, Fitness, Shape, Seventeen, Self, Marie Claire, Teen People, the New York Post, and the Washington Post.
Hollywood's hottest are eating it up!
"Harley Pasternak has developed an extraordinary program for health and fitness. No trends, no gimmicks, only serious results. User friendly, it is the most effective way for long-term health."
"The 5-Factor diet saved me on tour. I can't believe there is healthy food that tastes this good. I've never been in better shape!"
"It's not a diet in the sense that it's something to fall off of. There's nothing to say goodbye to, and nothing to long for. It's almost too good to be true!"
"Harley has changed my life. Not only do I feel better than ever, but now I can have guilt-free pizza anytime, and that has made me a happy girl."
"I was asked to lost some weight for my last film. Harley had me do his 5-Factor Diet and exercise program. Within weeks my body transformed. Getting in shape was never this easy. And I just saw my movie. And if I may say so myself, my body looks better than it ever has on film. I'm a fan for life."
"Every diet plan has a gimmick, but Pasternak's is simpler than most: the number five. The author's 'five factor' system (previously seen in his 2005 book, 5-Factor Fitness) includes five small meals a day, five workouts a week and a list of five factor foods-basics like egg whites, lean poultry and beans-in each of five food categories. More than 100 pages of low-calorie-if not particularly imaginative-recipes are included (such as Chicken and Rice Miso Soup and Roast Beef with Carrot-Pear Slaw), each of which include five ingredients and take five minutes to prepare. The in-demand author, whose clients' testimonials are scattered throughout the book (Kanye West and John Mayer among them), never fails to sound cheery, so even if daily rounds of five-factor strength-training sound daunting, his liveliness will help give readers courage: 'Don't worry, my plan is the easiest, most effective exercise program you'll ever use.' Though it might help to have the schedule of a Hollywood star-getting in five meals a day presents its own challenge for busy nine-to-fivers-his exercise plan is mercifully brief, the diet itself is flexible, and he doesn't require giving up any foods. In fact, Pasternak gives readers one 'cheat day' a week-the better to demonstrate 'how well the 5-Factor Diet is working.'" Publishers Weekly (Copyright Reed Business Information, Inc.)
Customer Reviews (supplied by Amazon.com):
Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5
1) Wonderful [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I received this book hoping that it would be something I would use, since I have already bought tons of weight loss books. It was wonderful, there are so many great receipes and they seriously were really easy to make. And trust me, I am not a cook at all, so they are really easy. I am also a very picky eater, so it is also hard for me to find a weight loss book with food I would eat. But most of these foods are yummy. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. :)
2) Great! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
Just like every other diet plan...it works if you follow it. This is easier than most.
3) Finally! [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I've purchased my share of diet books but finally found my last one. There are a ton of great recipies that fit perfectly with Harley's workout plan. He backs it up with a wealth of knowlege which he conveys in a very simple, easy to understand read. I checked out his celebrity client list for living proof and that doesn't lie. I've never written a review before but had to because I know, by so many trials and errors, how hard it is to find good information on how to be truly healthy and not just be duped by the next diet fad. Trust me, this is the one! I've only had the book for a month and I not only feel great, but have dropped nine pounds by eating better tasting food than all my other twenty or so other diet books on my shelf, combined. Thanks Harley.
4) Tasty [Rating: 4 out of 5]
I've had this book for a couple of weeks, and bought it despite my disdain for "dieting." If for no other reason, buy it for the recipes. They are simple, low in fat, high in protein and generally produce two servings, sometimes large servings. This is not a book that advises you to drastically cut calories. It advises you to eat and what could be better than that? I've completely changed what and when I eat and it seems to be paying off.
5) Great advice...need a ltllte more info [Rating: 4 out of 5]
I really like this book. I just finished reading it and am excited to get started. I do think the meals look rather simple, which is very imoprtant to me. I have one complaint, though. I wish each recipe included total calories, grams of protein, carbs and fat. Based on my current weight, I am not sure how many calories I need to eat and in what ratio. He gives you sample menues but if I were a 200 pound man, wouldn't I need a different amount of calories? Also, if there were calories and grams of protein, carbs and fat you would be a bit more able to substitute your own menu items.
6) Awesome Book...builds on the author's previous book called 5-Factor Fitness [Rating: 5 out of 5]
I have been following the 5 factor program for 7 months now and have obtained desired results from it. I have also recommended it to 5 friends (not part of the 5 factor paradigm...) and they found it to be the most practical and result-oriented program. All of them have lost weight and this is the only program that they have been able to stick with...so adios
New things in this book:
*****120 recipes of 5 factor foods that you can make at home...but being a vegetarian I had to modify some of these and used some of my own
*****Completely revamped exercises...which are just as effective but easier on the back (Exercise ball exercises replace the old crunches) - I bought this edition just for the new exercies...
So overall comments...this is the best program out there...both in terms of exercise suggested and eating tips and recipes...and as the author says - "the only program you will ever need"

I really should say though that dieting is as much as about willpower, determination, and the psychology of the mind, as it is the food and excerices; which is why I also recommend these top rated books on Amazon:
